Tong Junjie (Coach A-Jie) Head Coach

At the age of 27, with the help of his junior schoolmate Hsiang-wei and other national gymnastics athletes, he founded Tongli Gymnastics. In 2017, the addition of Peng-hao, a top student from National Taiwan University, ushered in a new era for Tongli Gymnastics. One of Tongli Gymnastics' core philosophies is to discover and cultivate outstanding athletes who can reach the Olympic stage and even win gold medals. Another important philosophy, and the core value of Tongli Gymnastics, is to provide a channel for anyone, regardless of age or gender, to participate in gymnastics and receive professional guidance in a safe environment, making learning gymnastics no longer just a dream.

Throughout my years as a competitor and later as a coach, I've come to believe that gymnastics is about training the body, technique, and also the mind. Good physical ability is like a high-performance airplane—it can fly high, fast, and change direction at will in the air. But if the pilot lacks skill, even the best airplane will remain stationary on the tarmac, unable to take off. Ultimately, the key is the mind. Besides strengthening physical fitness and improving technique, it's also crucial to constantly engage in self-reflection and attentively feel the subtle changes in your body. During training, you may experience setbacks. For example, when doing a cartwheel, you know your foot should step forward, but your body won't obey and you always step off course. You might even develop fear, such as being afraid to jump backward when practicing a backflip. Therefore, learning to overcome inner fear safely is a vital lesson. After surpassing yourself, the changes in your body and the sense of accomplishment from learning new moves will bring unparalleled joy. I welcome anyone interested to experience the beauty of gymnastics.
